After Neckartailfingen we drove without incident to Dachau just north of Munich. I had been there before in February, 1996. We stayed at a wonderful little “neighborhood” hotel that was part bed and breakfast and part hotel. We went up into the Alt Stadt (old town) to have a late dinner. We both had schnitzels of sorts. It was good, but it was not what I was looking for. I came to Germany with the goal of having “Wienerrostbraten” at least once. Germany has changed so much that that was not to be. It was easier to get Italian or Chinese or a hamburger than the REAL German food that I had loved for almost 50 years. Oh, yeah, we could find Bratwurst (as we did in Berlin) but real sit down, white-table-cloth German dining was mostly gone. Everything is too Americanized.
